Bollinger Mill Trail is a 0.7 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Whitewater, Missouri that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for walking, nature trips, and watching and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The popular mill was quickly rebuilt in 1867 by Sherman R. Burford. The following year a covered bridgewas built adjacent the mill, providing easy access to the nearby town of Burfordville. It was George Frederick Bollingerthat headed west from Carolina and first envisioned a new mill in this remote region of eastern Missouri in the early 1800s.

The Bollinger Mill was rebuilt in 1867, photo by Kathy Weiser-Alexander. By this time, most people referred to the settlement as Bollinger's Mill. Bollinger soon added a distillery and blacksmith shop and in 1825, he replaced his earlier wooden structures with a stone dam and building foundation and added a wooden upper story to the mill.

Moses Bollinger purchased the mill from Matthias in 1835. In 1854 Moses died and the heirs could not agree to sell the mill so it was sold at a sheriff's auction to John Dollie. The Dollie's kept it in the family until they sold half interest to William Heitman in 1899.

The Bollinger-Dolle mill was built sometime before 1850 by Mathias Bollinger, a brother of George Frederick Bollinger who had obtained the original Spanish land grant in the area. The mill replaced an earlier, similar structure, also built by Mathias Bollinger, which had been destroyed by fire.
