The New Holland 355 mill is one of the best ever made. If it is in good condition it will bring a lot more than $2950. Parts for the NH mill will be easier to get at this time. Neither Gehl or NH make grinder mixers anymore. The worry with Gehl is they are dropping support for the majority of the agriculture equipment.

The new holland 355 and gehl 125 were the best grinders out there ...i preferred the new holland and i ground a lot of feed with these two machines. Ground a lot with with a 400 when i was a kid but the new holland or gehl are better machines. Back to top.

If the HP is not adequate the solution is to meter the material being ground in at a low rate. However, if you get more material fed into the grinder than you have HP to power the load on the grinder will/can create problems. The load on the grinder will also over time do damage to the tractor in the PTO drive area.

A feed wagon would be better, greenhouse I worked at had a used Kelly Ryan wagon that worked good and would hold more and would be able to fill with a loader. Maybe this is what you mean, with a grinder/mixer you have to run it through a 6 inch auger or through the hammer mill and would think it would bunch up and not feed out.

The advice about just having the old one machined down and welding on a new blank to the old hub is solid advice though. Been there and done that!
