Vman, I looked at that mill in the Grizzly showroom. That would be a step up from the round column mill. Looks like a decent machine and the only concerns I have with it are the 240 rpm low end and the table to spindle distance. Might not be a problem for what you are planning on doing.

Small mills have too much flex, causing chatter and bit breakage, forcing you to cut very slowly, which results in work-hardening of the workpiece as the cuts are too shallow to get beneath the hard zone created by the previous edge.
