I am currently sorta shopping for a vertical mill/milling machine. Have done lots of looking around on The Little Machine Shop site and their Mini Mill buyers guide. I have also done some searching on the Precision Matthews site at their Benchtop mills. I notice that LMS offers a 1 year warranty whereas PM offers a 3 year warranty.

For the same price, you could get the Griz ($1490), powerfeed (+$345), a 4 inch milling vise (Shars, +$250), and still be left with a little over $300 for tooling and whatnot, or to put towards a DRO setup. So, my personal opinion, the PM may be the better machine, but not better enough to justify the price over the Grizzly.

It is a very nice machine, but my milling experience is limited to only that machine, so my view could be totally skewed. In the end, I got the G0704 because: It's heavier, by a long shot, than the mini mills. Everyone with mill experience said weight matters. The digital depth readout is very nice.
